Runaway UCL Premier Division leaders Spalding United have swooped to sign talented duo Ross Watson and Jordan Thomas.
Versatile defender Watson, who has previously enjoyed notable spells with King’s Lynn Town and Stamford, arrives from AFC Subdury on a permanent basis, while exciting attacker Thomas joins on loan from Lincoln City.
Watson is eligible to line-up against title rivals Huntingdon Town tomorrow (Saturday), while Thomas must be registered before 3pm today (Friday) to have a chance of featuring.
The teenage hitman became the youngest-ever player to feature for the Imps’ first team back in 2011, aged just 16 years and 71 days.
Pleased Tulips chief Pat Rayment said: “I’m delighted to welcome both players to the club. Jordan is quick and bright – he’s clearly held in very high regard at Lincoln.
“Ross is a player we’ve wanted for some time and we moved when he became available. He’s very versatile and has been there and done it at this level and beyond.
“Both lads are excellent acquisitions for the club. Ross in particular meets the criteria of the kind of player we are trying to bring this football club.
“We want to have as many lads from the local and surrounding areas playing for us as possible. I believe he’s from Peterborough and people around here will certainly know of him
“We’re not looking to rest on our laurels and these signings show we mean business in 2014. It’s the start of a big year for us and I want the team to be even more ruthless than they have been.”
