FOOTBALL: Tulips lose crucial clash

Have your say

SPALDING United suffered a massive blow in their bid to beat the Evo-Stik League First Division South drop as they lost 2-0 at Rainworth Miners Welfare on Tuesday night.

Max Wright’s double (34 and 90) sealed the Tulips’ fate and effectively left them nine points from safety with just ten fixtures left.

Leek Town and Market Drayton Town are now the teams Andy Stanhope’s side are looking to hunt down, with the three points lifting Rainworth up to 18th.
