HOLBEACH United booked a Lincs FA Senior Trophy final date at Sincil Bank by beating Bourne Town 4-0 at Carter’s Park on Tuesday night.
In what was the third attempt to complete the semi-final date after two abandoned Abbey Lawn ties because floodlight failure, the Tigers were always in command.
Matt Warfield opened the scoring with a strike from distance (12), but the pivotal moment of the game arrived just before the break when Bourne defender Aaron Jesson was sent off for a professional foul.
The trusty boot of Luke Kennedy converted the resulting penalty – and when the same player fired home a stunning third just after the interval, the Wakes were staring down the barrel at a heavy loss.
Although Holbeach rattled the bar three times, Bourne defended resolutely and only shipped one more goal to Ashley Stevens in the dying seconds.
John Chand’s men now meet Barton Town Old Boys in the final at Lincoln City.
