SPALDING United boss Pat Rayment has made an audacious move for St Neots Town star Dan Jacob.

The Tulips supremo has slapped in an official seven-day notice of approach for the highly-rated forward, who has previously played for Deeping Rangers and Yaxley.

Rayment is hopeful he can persuade the talented striker to join his much-fancied side – with the prospect of a fielding Jacob, Shane Tolley and Franny Green in the same side a mouth-watering one.

Indeed, Tolley should make his first start of pre-season in tonight’s low-key friendly clash with Moulton Harrox at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field tonight (Tuesday, 7.45pm).

Across South Holland, Holbeach United beat Pinchbeck United 6-2 at Carter’s Park on Monday night.

Tommy Treacher, Robbie Harris, Mitch Griffiths, George Leatherland and Dan Flack were among the scorers, while Tom Gosling grabbed one of Pinchbeck’s goals.
