FOOTBALL: Pinchbeck unveil Lovelace as new boss

MARK Lovelace has been named as Pinchbeck United’s new manager.

A former player with the club, Lovelace fills the void left by Peterborough and District Premier League double-winning boss Ian Dunn – who moved to UCL Premier Division outfit Boston Town earlier this summer.

He will be assisted by club stalwart Dan Cole and the experienced Jimmy McDonnell, as they bid to stabalise the Knight Street side after a number of key departures.

Former skipper Matt Hocking will work alongside Dunn as co-boss at Boston, while full backs Luke Wilson and Danny Maddison have also made the move to Tattershall Road. The futures of versatile midfielder Keith Gray and defender Lee Marshall are also up in the air.

A Pinchbeck spokesman said: “After weeks of speculation and work behind the scenes we are delighted that Mark has taken the role of first team manager.

“His contacts at this level will ensure that Pinchbeck United are a competitive side in the Peterborough Premier League and we know Mark will relish the challenge ahead of him in our attempt to retain our title and cup.”
