FOOTBALL: Pinchbeck title dream fading, Wakes hit for six

Have your say

TWO defeats in four days look to have ended Pinchbeck’s Peterborough Premier Division title dreams.

Pete Roberts’ side, who were sitting pretty this time last week, followed up Wednesday night’s 3-1 home loss to Moulton Harrox with a 3-0 Knight Street loss to Uppingham Town Saturday.

Goals from Andrew Sayers, Omar Elkashoty and Robert Montgomery leave Pinchbeck six points behind leaders Ramsey Town with just one game in hand.

Their three remaining fixtures are Eye Sports away on Saturday, Crowland Town (away, May 11) and Deeping Sports (home, May 14).

Meanwhile, Bourne Town were routed 6-1 by UCL Division One champions Kempston Rovers on Saturday.

Bourne’s Brazilian Ikharo Leopoldino jumped off the bench to fire their only goal at the Abbey Lawn on Saturday, but Rovers ran riot.

The result ensures that Darren Munton’s men finish the campaign in 12th position.
