PINCHBECK UNITED 1 WADDINGTON UNITED 1 (Pinchbeck win 3-2 on pens): TWO penalty shoot-out saves from Lee Drury helped Pinchbeck book a tough trip to Saltfleet in the Lincs Junior Cup.

Andy Law fired the hosts ahead with a deflected strike inside 15 minutes on Saturday, but a controversial Waddington leveller forced penalties at Knight Street.

Player/boss Ian Dunn, Tom Gosling and Drury himself scored from the spot, before the keeper made two super stops to seal Pinchbeck’s passage.

Dunn said: “It was anything but a thriller. They came to stop us play if I’m honest.

“We were a bit flat too and the tempo wasn’t quite what I’d like. That being said, we should have won pretty comfortably. I sound a bit like a broken record, but their goal was a joke too. Their player was offside and controlled the ball with his hand – we’re not getting the rub of the green.”
