FOOTBALL: Pinchbeck’s goal blast

Have your say

Pinchbeck Utd 12 AFC Louth 0: FREE-SCORING Pinchbeck breezed into the quarter finals of the Lincs Junior Cup in imperious style.

Mark Lovelace and Oliver Maltby both helped themselves to hat-tricks as the Peterborough and District League Premier Division leaders ran riot at Knight Street.

There were also braces for Andrew Law and Jamie Cartlidge, while Jake Cawthorne and Tom Roberts got in on the act too.

Assistant boss Steve Barnes is now hopeful that Pinchbeck can go all the way in the county competition.

He said: “Obviously we’re in it to win it. We got to the quarters last year and messed it up, so lets hope we’ve learned from our mistakes.

“It was all one-way traffic if I’m honest, you don’t really expect to have it this easy in the last 16 of a competition. The scoreline was not flattering at all, it could have been 20.”

Pinchbeck will have to wait to see who they face in the last eight – with rivals Moulton Harrox a potential opponent.
