DARREN Munton is still the manager of Bourne Town after reversing his decision to resign.
The club legend appeared to have had enough of his fourth stint as Wakes supremo following Saturday’s 2-1 home reverse against Potton United in UCL Division One.
But after meeting with Abbey Lawn officials on Monday night, it was confirmed that Munton would continue in the role.
An official statement from Bourne’s secretary Bob Lambert said: “Following a monthly meeting last night night (Monday), Bourne Town FC can categorically state that, despite comments in a local paper, that manager Darren Munton has NOT resigned as manager of the club.
“Despite going through a poor run of results Darren and his assistant Phil Jarman remain upbeat and confident of turning things round.
“When the club were unfairly demoted two seasons ago the committee set out a plan to stabalise the club both financially and on the field after seasons of failed expensive managers.
“Due to the hard work of the committee they are achieving that plan on both accounts.
“Darren and Phil remain committed to the club for the foreseeable future and with their hard work and the backing of a team of players wanting to play for the club the committee are fully 100 percent behind Darren and Phil to establish the team in the current first division.”
