FOOTBALL: Harrox miss out on second, Pinchbeck lose thriller

Have your say

MOULTON Harrox missed out on second spot in the Peterborough and District League after losing 2-1 at Kings Cliffe on Tuesday night, while champions Pinchbeck United went down 3-2 at home to Peterborough Sports.

Needing a victory to make it a South Holland one-two in the top flight, goals from Andrew Bradley and James Picillo sunk Harrox, who replied though Josh Ford. The win secures second spot for Cliffe.

There was worse news for Harrox, as they were leapfrogged by a Peterborough Sports side that won at Knight Street.

Pinchbeck player/boss Ian Dunn and left back Danny Maddison notched to put the hosts 2-0 ahead, but Ondre Odain (2) and Addie Staffieri struck to complete a spurring comeback.

Elsewhere, Crowland Town beat Netherton United 2-0 at Snowden Field, with Chris Thomas and Chris Challis on target.

The league concludes this weekend – see Thursday’s Spalding Guardian for all the fixtures.
