FOOTBALL: Harrox edge thriller, Pinchbeck beaten in Shield

Have your say

MOULTON Harrox won an exciting Peterborough Premier Division derby at Crowland Town 5-3 on Wednesday night, while Pinchbeck United lost 2-1 to King’s Cliffe in the PFA Jack Hogg Charity Shield final.

On an super night of action at Snowden Field, Dan Woods (2), Martin Gordon, Sean Gedney and Ben Allen all netted for Harrox as they made it two wins out of two and went second in the early standings.

It’s the exact opposite for Pinchbeck, who suffered a second defeat on the spin. No league points were up for grabs at Chestnut Avenue in the annual Shield showdown, with league runners-up Cliffe having too much for Mark Lovelace’s side.

Elsewhere, Deeping Rangers Reserves lost a ten-goal Outgang Road thriller against Uppingham Town 6-4.
