PINCHBECK UNITED 1 POWERLEAGUE 0: A LATE strike from player/boss Ian Dunn was enough for Pinchbeck as they avoided a PFA Senior Cup banana skin.
The striker headed home the only goal of the game from a corner 15 minutes from time at Knight Street, as Division One side Powerleague offered stubborn resistance.
Dunn felt the goal was always coming, but admitted it wasn’t the best display from his side.
He said: “It wasn’t pretty, but we got the job done. Lee Drury had to make some super saves in the first half, but after that we bossed it.
“We hit the post and bar, but when the goal finally came I thought they’d come at us.
“I’ll always be happy when we win, good sides do that when they’re not playing well.”
• THE first derby of the season between Pinchbeck and Moulton Harox has been scheduled for Saturday, November 19 at Knight Street.
• FORMER Pinchbeck player Mark Lovelace spent time in intensive care at Queen’s in Nottingham over the weekend after being kicked in the windpipe.
He is now in a stable condition and Pinchbeck wish him a speedy recovery.
Lovelace has now joined Freiston having fallen out of favour at United.
