OLD Dons FC are on the look out for new players ahead of the new Boston and District League season.

They are a young team of talented footballers who have been together right through the ranks of the Young Dons setup.

But with a few of the lads going to University or travelling and legendary keeper Andy Barnett retiring to the reserves, the club require some fresh talent – with a new keeper a real priority.

The Dons won two trophies last season – the Spalding Inter Services crown and the Swineshead Cup – and play in the Premier Division.

Training is at the Thomas Cowley High School on Wednesday nights (7-8.30pm).

Anybody interested can call Mark Stanhope on 07850 260989.

• The club is holding a sponsored run and family fun day at the Community Hall field in Donington on Sunday (10am).

There will be a barbecue, raffle and the usual side stalls. Anyone interested in joining the club at any age group can come along and speak to managers ahead of the new season.
