Deeping Rangers manager Michael Goode insists they were good value for the 2-2 draw at Leek Town on Saturday and will go into tonight’s replay full of confidence they can get an even better result.

Second-half goals from David Burton-Jones and Scott Coupland saw them cancel out Tim Grice’s double for the Evo-Stik League First Division South side.

Goode said: “Leek are not just a Step Four team but a strong Step Four team and it was a three-hour away trip. All of that was against us.

“But I have said before the difference between a Step Four team and Step Five team in a one-off game is negligible.

“I always say it’s good to win one game in the FA Cup but if we could win three we would be ecstatic.

“At 2-2 their heads were gone and we looked quite dominant.”

Goode confirmed there are no new injury concerns within the squad.

The winners will collect £3,000 and go through for a home tie against Southern League Division One Central leaders AFC Rushden & Diamonds on September 26.

Meanwhile, Holbeach United head to Stourport Swifts tonight following their 2-2 draw.

Tigers boss Darren Jarvis felt his side should have got through Saturday’s first qualifying round tie, even though they twice came from behind to level through Jordan Thomas and Gary King.

Jarvis said: “Stourport have got some very good players, but reflecting on the tie it is one we should have won.

“At 2-2 we had three really good chances in the last 15 minutes to have gone on and won the game.

“I think in the replay we can negate their attacking threats, but I’m not sure they know where are best threats are yet. I’m confident we can win.”

The winners have been drawn at home to National League North side Worcester City.
