Having beaten Chenecks earlier in the season, Bourne would have been hopeful of getting something from the return fixture.

However, they were undone by a hat-trick from home striker Ben Foster.

He put Chenecks ahead mid-way through the first half and doubled their advantage 11 minutes after half time.

James Zealand pulled one back for Wakes on the hour to give the visitors hope, but Foster was on target once more to complete his hat-trick in the 79th minute.

Although Craig Rook scored a second for Wakes with eight minutes still to go, they couldn’t find another and the home side held on to claim the win and take the points.
