FOOTBALL: Spalding United boss wants prolific pair

Two strikers are in 'advanced talks' with Spalding United.

Tulips boss Chris Rawlinson wants more firepower next season after hitting just 52 goals in 42 league games last term.

The club have already announced the return of Tom Siddons following a loan spell from King's Lynn Town.

However, Rawlinson still hopes Siddons will officially sign next month - despite "a better offer from somebody else".

He said: "We are now in advanced talks with Siddons and another striker.

"As it stands, pretty much all of last season's squad have agreed to stay here.

"I don't think the back four and midfield were too bad - but we didn't score enough goals so we need to add a couple of forwards."

James Hugo and Luke White look set to return after being released from Lincoln City's academy but Jenk Acar and Paul Walker are likely to play at a higher level.
