Spalding United stormed through to the next round of the FA Trophy with an impressive 6-1 victory at Soham Town Rangers this afternoon, while Holbeach United went down to a shock 4-0 home league defeat to Peterborough Northern Star.

The Tulips conceded the first goal at Soham but soon equalised through Ryan Oliver before Lewis Webb gave them a 2-1 half time lead.

After the break Tom Waumsley made it three, Chris Hall got the fourth and two late efforts from Kern Miller completed a great victory.

At Carter’s Park, visitors Peterborough Northern Star held Holbeach to a goalless first half before taking the lead through Viera soon after the break.

The score stayed like this until the final moments, when, with the Tigers chasing the game, Star stunned the home side with three late efforts. Viera again and two from Kilbride did the damaga.

Meanwhile, in division one, Bourne Town went down 3-2 to high flying Northampton Spencer.
