FOOTBALL: Show your support for Tulips tonight

Spalding United have issued a passionate call for extra support at tonight's home game.

The Tulips take on Cleethorpes Town at the Sir Halley Stewart Field (7.45pm kick-off).

And the message is simple - bring a mate to double the gate!

Assistant manager Lewis Thorogood said: "We are encouraging more people to come and show their support.

"Win lose or draw - find out what we are all about on and off the pitch.

"We've upgraded the facilities, structure and profile of the club.

"This is an amazing group of players who are sticking together and pushing hard to get positive results.

"We have one of the smallest budgets in the league but we are looking better than last season.

"We've come a long way and there is plenty of potential here. Hopefully the people of Spalding will support us.

"It's been a great week on the road and I cannot thank the players enough for their efforts and determination.

"I need to urge everyone to come tonight and support us.

"We are striving to achieve on the pitch and off it, doing all we can to move the club forward.

"So much good work has gone into the club to improve the facilities, matchdays and profile. We are doing all we can to be self sufficient.

"Don't worry about watching England tonight - please be the 12th man, support your local non-League team and help us move forward.

"Can we get over 200 here tonight? It would mean the world to all of us!"
