Spalding's Tulip Trophy junior football tournament called off due to coronavirus lockdown
One of South Holland's biggest annual sporting events, the Tulip Trophy, has been called off due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The six-a-side football tournament for under-seven to under-12 teams was due to have taken place at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field, home of Spalding United, on the weekend of May 2 and 3.
But during a live "football chat" on social media this week, tournament organiser and Tulips manager Lewis Thorogood confirmed that it would now not take place after advice from the Government and Football Association (FA).
