Holbeach United striker set for return before Christmas
Michael Frew is close to a comeback at Holbeach United.
The striker broke his foot three months ago in the opening week of the season.
But he is almost ready to return to the Tigers' squad.
Manager Danny Hussey said: "It's good news that he went out running last week to build up his fitness.
"Hopefully he will get signed off by the doctors in a couple of weeks then he will back on the pitch.
"He is really keen to get involved again and it could be good timing around the Christmas period when there are more fixtures.
"He will be like a new signing when we are pushing the big boys in the top five.
"We've had eight goalkeepers registered this season so that has been a nightmare.
"Now we've lost Joe Braithwaite to a bad knee injury after getting himself back into the defence last week.
"Ryan Oliver hurt his ankle in the game at Quorn so we're having bad luck with injuries."
Spencer Tinkler, Jonny Lockie, Adam Jackson and Luke Avis were on target in last Saturday's 4-0 home win over Peterborough Northern Star.
Holbeach head to mid-table Lutterworth Town this weekend.
Hussey added: "To be honest, I don't much about them but they either win or lose so they must be going for it because there have been no draws so far this season."
