FOOTBALL: Clarets aim for another FA Cup upset

Deeping Rangers are ready to equal their best-ever run in the Emirates FA Cup by reaching the second qualifying round again.

They face BetVictor Isthmian League North Division side AFC Sudbury on Saturday in search of another Step Four scalp.

The Clarets knocked out Bedford Town in the preliminary round two weeks ago thanks to Jordan Macleod's single strike.

Now they are back home looking for another cup upset.

Manager Michael Goode said: "We have to approach this just like the Bedford game.

"There is a weight off our shoulders where we can play with freedom.

"If we are disciplined at the back and across midfield, going forward on the counter-attack we are capable of beating anybody at Step Four or Five.

"We are still rebuilding a little bit from the end of last season.

"We've brought in a few players who are starting to gel on and off the pitch.

"Sam Murphy wasn't involved in pre-season but he will be a key player for us.

"We didn't anticipate a poor start to the league season but we could have got more points against Quorn, Holbeach United and Leicester Nirvana.

"We are not far away but we can't keep making these errors when we're not taking chances at the other end.

"It's down to fine margins at the moment and we need to get it right defensively like we did at Bedford.

"We need a tight base for longer periods and we know we can take a higher proportion of our chances."
