FOOTBALL: Chance for clubs to develop

Lincolnshire Football Association are looking for more teams to join the Under-21 Development League next season.

Chief executive officer Philip Hough said: “We are delighted that a number of the teams who have been members of our league for the last couple of years have decided to play within the National League System and have joined the Lincolnshire League.

“As you will appreciate, this means that the development aspect of our league appears to be working - albeit that we now need to recruit replacements!

“In essence this is a midweek competition played under floodlights. Teams are permitted to play three over-age players and also have the opportunity to nominate and play five substitutes.

“We appoint three suitably qualified match officials to each game. Provided a player is registered with the club, they don’t have to sign an additional registration form to play in the league. However, clubs are permitted to play trialists who can be signed up to 30 minutes prior to kick-off.”
