Challenges for Pinchbeck United against UCL Premier Division leaders Shepshed Dynamo

Pinchbeck United face a tough test at the Sir Halley Stewart Field on Saturday.

League leaders Shepshed Dynamo are aiming to extend their perfect start to the season.

They have not conceded a goal in eight successive wins in the uhlsport United Counties League Premier Division.

The Knights remain just above the relegation zone with one league win after conceding a last-gasp equaliser at ON Chenecks last weekend.

Player-manager Ian Dunn said: “Shepshed Dynamo might be looking at this game and thinking it’s a foregone conclusion.

“But we upset the odds by getting a 1-1 draw with Rugby Town in our previous home game three weeks ago.

“Now the questions are can we become the first team to take a point off Shepshed this season and score the first goal past them? Those are our challenges.

“We’ve seen improvements in different areas over the past three games and we’ll look to do better again.

“We have to take the positives where we haven’t lost since the start of September.

“We didn’t look like conceding in open play at ON Chenecks but set-pieces hurt us.

“We’ve got to take collective responsibility when we are defending.”

Knights denied by last-gasp leveller
