Bourne Town hit four goals at Raunds Town in UCL Division One

Simon Daws praised a 'brilliant' win as Bourne Town completed their first double of the season.

Jake Mason (2), Craig Rook and Josh Randall were on target to put the Wakes one point behind Raunds Town in the uhlsport United Counties League Division One table.

Daws said: "Overall it was a great win with four well-taken goals and a clean sheet.

"When we were 2-0 up at half-time with the wind advantage, we were thinking whether it would be enough because the conditions were a big factor.

"We set up trying to catch them on the break and it paid off in the second half.

"Jake got two great goals. He hit the shot first time to put us ahead and his second was another excellent finish into the bottom corner.

"Craig caught out the keeper by smashing the ball past him from 35 yards.

"Garry Doran also saved a penalty at 3-0 after we had switched off for a few seconds.

"Josh got our fourth goal late on by picking up the ball on the wing and going past a few defenders to poke it past the keeper. He threatens to do that all the time.

"Although Raunds have got a couple of games in hand, we've pegged them back and moved away from the bottom two."
