FOOTBALL: Acar and Spafford back in Tulips’ line-up
Jenk Acar’s return will give “a major bonus” for Spalding United, according to manager Matt Easton.
He is ready to start Saturday’s trip to Tadcaster Albion following his long-awaited recovery from a knee injury.
Easton said: “He has been out for a few months but he has looked good in training over the past couple of weeks.
“This will be like having another really good signing.
“He won’t last 90 minutes on Saturday but we’re really pleased to have one of our best players available again.
“He will frighten any defence in this league so it’s a major bonus to bring him back into the squad.
“Even when we are missing a couple of players, we are not too concerned because we can fill those gaps.
“There are no excuses because injuries and suspensions will happen to every club. That’s why you have balance within the squad.”
Acar and defender Neal Spafford are likely to return for the Tulips as James Cullingworth and Rudy Misambo are both banned this weekend.
Meanwhile, Spalding have signed Lincoln City teenager Charlie Hart on a work experience deal until the end of the season.
Assistant boss Lewis Thorogood said: "He can play wide or in the 'number 10' role because he's very quick and tricky on the ball with explosive pace.
"He has settled in well at training and we'll give him the opportunity of playing senior football to help his development. He's a good acquisition to the squad."
