Deeping win final game to finish third




Market Deeping finished their Rutland League season off in third place in Division One after a six-wicket win at home to King Keys on Sunday.

After electing to bat, the visitors scored a healthy 250-7 from their 40 overs, James Hook taking 2-55 from 8 overs for Deeping. Other wickets went to Nick Green, Matthew Rose, Mehul Adatia, Nick Andrews and Karl Green.

In reply, things were not looking good for Deeping when both openers were dismissed for two, but Nick Green's unbeaten 139, which included 20 fours, saw his side home to a thrilling victory with 10 balls to spare.

He was supported by Hook (42) and Ross Barnes (22) as Deeping reached 245-4.

Bourne and second bottom of Division Two after conceding all 20 points to Newborough. Their final game sees them at Ufford Park on Sunday.
