DARTS: Dragon Scott too hot to handle in Pinchbeck winter league's finals
A packed Services Club saw Green Dragon’s Scott Williams take many of the individual titles at Pinchbeck & District Winter Darts League’s finals night.
Scott started the evening in the singles semi-finals - winning 2-0 against Duggie McInerney from the Tigers Club. The other semi saw Luke Rhodes (Ship Albion) beat Darren Royal (Green Dragon) 2-1.
Then, with Darren, he went on to win their pairs semi-final 2-1 against Duncan Hunt and Chris Fidler (New Saracen's Head).
The other semi-final contest saw Mark Horspool and Kev Aldhous (NSH) victorious against Dale Crawford and Jake Merrill (Lincoln Arms D).
Next up for Scott was the Captains’ Cup final where again he was triumphant, winning 2-0 against Steve Stancer (Lincoln Arms A).
The ladies’ final saw Samantha Williams (no relation to Scott) take on Lindsey Wingell, with Samantha winning 2-0.
The mixed pairs final saw Scott team up with his wife Ellie to take on McInerney and Sharon Barnard (Tigers Club).
Thanks to some crisp finishing the Tigers pair came out winners 2-1, despite a 180 by Scott.
The league pairs final was a very close encounter over the five legs, Scott and Darren winning 3-2 against Mark and Kev. Another 180 in this game for Scott.
To complete his evening the prestigious singles title also went to Scott as he continued his excellent form, beating Luke in straight legs 3-0.
In the team cup competitions, the New Saracen's Head beat the Lincoln Arms A to take the fours trophy – 180s for Paul Blow and Ant Richardson.
The H&H trophy final between the Fisherman's Arms and the Consti Club A was another close encounter.Andris Bunduls took the last leg 2-1 against Luke Chilvers for a 4-3 win for the Fisherman’s team.
The Knockout Cup final saw Lincoln Arms A take revenge on the New Saracen's Head with a last game win by Sam Roberts over Mark Horspool to lift the cup 4-3.
