Market Deeping Cricket Club have received £35k of funding from local company Mick George Ltd.
The money has been awarded to help Deeping install new practice nets and to purchase essential ground maintanence equipment, in this instance a heavy roller.
Deeping’s commitment to young players and their local community helped win the funding.
David Wheatley, the club’s fundraising officer, said: “We are absolutely thrilled and delighted to be awarded the grant from the Mick George Community Fund. This award will make a massive difference to the club and our ability to provide great facilities for the use of people from the Deeping communities. We cannot thank Mick George Ltd enough”
Jon Stump, finance director at Mick George Ltd, commented: ‘’Our partnership with Market Deeping CC is one we’re pleased to be involved with. It’s clear to see by the volume of people associated with the club how much it is valued by the local community. Naturally over time investment will be needed to improve, replace or maintain equipment and facilities, however funding of such vast amounts can be hard to generate for clubs at grass roots levels. Where feasible, we will always try to contribute and give a little something back.”
