Welby batted first and Town’s strike bowling due of Joe Lyon and Sanj Tott were both miserly before skipper Sumner was dismissed with the score on 32 .

Town continued their fine control and were rewarded shortly afterwards with the wicket of Meadows to see Welby at 45 -2 in the 20th over.

Once Ripley had dismissed Hugo Barker for an impressive 35 , Welby struggled.

Gilbert poached five wickets for the second week in a row to see the hosts restricted to 134 in their 45 overs.

In reply town got of to the worst possible start with Will Holmes falling first ball.

Sam Young soon went for four to leave town at 11-2 . This meant that 13 -year-old Jordan Butcher joined Plant and they dug deep to bat 20 overs and take a large chunk out of the Welby score.

Plant fell for 15 with the score on 69 , but the powerful Jazz Tott attacked everything which was off a poor length to see Town speed towards their target . Butcher fell LBW for an impressive 39 and Tott finished the game in the 30th over with two fours to see him finish on a career best 45no to consolidate third place.
