Long Sutton (69-1) beat Spalding 2nd (68) by 9 wickets

Sutton continued their 100 per cent home record as they annihilated their local rivals at Paradise Field.

Batting first, Spalding started steadily until Paul Edgeller (2-10) dismissed Simon Juckes (7) and Luke Whitworth (0) in quick succession.

Shortly afterwards, Barry Stanway (1-24) removed Jimmy Clarke (20).

Jimmy Wright then pinned both Lee Eyett (5) and Chris Klompas (1).

Spinner Jake Burton dismissed Jamie Juckes (16) and Steve Norris (0), before Wright removed Dave Endersbee (0) and Burton (3-6) picked up an excellent caught and bowled to dismiss Kev Nottingham (2). Wright (4-21) took the final wicket of Tom Dale (8).

In reply, Sutton didn’t look to hang around as Ed Booth (21) exploited the excellent batting pitch.

When he was dismissed by Jamie Juckes (1-17), it was left to Chris Booth (13 not out) and Phil Barnes (21 not out) to complete the 20 point victory and maintain the ever widening gap at the top.
