BOURNE’S bid for back-to-back Lincs ECB Premier League titles ended at Bracebridge on Saturday.
In a winner takes all showdown on the penultimate weekend of the season, Fahad Masood’s incredible figures of 7-58 restricted to league leaders to 202 batting first.
The hosts had been coasting on 188-2 in the 38th over, but lost three wickets to the Pakistan bowler in the 39th and two more in the 41st.
That takes Masood to an amazing 81 wickets for the season.
In reply, Bourne just never got going. Once again it was Masood that led the charge with a defiant 76, but five wickets from Ashley Schultz dismissed them for 148 and allowed Bracebridge to regain their crown.
There was better news for Market Deeping though, as they clinched an 11-run win over Nettleham.
Dave Gillett (63) and Jim McDougall (57no) starred as Deeping racked up a competitive 252-7 batting first.
Nettleham were looking good for a win as Dan Wright racked up 85. But they were eventually all out for 241, leaving Deeping in with a shout of fourth place.
