CRICKET: Billingborough’s maiden six-a-side bash

Have your say

BILLINGBOROUGH Cricket Club are hosting their first-ever cricket six-a-side competition and family fun day on August 29.

The action-packed day of sporting activities will also offer those in attendance the chance to win up to £250 on the “Big Boro” raffle.

It is hoped that up to 12 teams will contest the competition, while the day will also be boosted by an inflatable extreme cricket catching game, which is often seen at international ODI matches.

All money raised on the day will go towards the cricket club and St Andrew Church charities in the village.

There will be free entry and parking, with a barbecue, stalls and children’s entertainment running throughout the day.

Schools, groups and members of the public are also invited to attend and put out free stalls. Stalls will be able to keep all of the money they raise.

• Youth training at Billingborough is being held every Tuesday night (6-7.15pm).

The first session is free for all, with the second costing £2 – which includes youth membership to the club. Then its £1 thereafter for each training session.

Billingborough already have 40 youths on the books after five weeks of training, but they are still on the look out for boys and girls of all abilities.
