CRICKET: Summer is here!

The Lincolnshire ECB Premier League goes into the 2019 programme with only 11 teams after Grimsby Town had to withdraw.

Last year’s runners-up Grantham have a new captain in former Bourne wicket-keeper Carl Wilson.

Bourne’s replacement behind the stumps is Steven Crossley who has left Grimsby.

Market Deeping’s captain for 2019 is Jamie Morgan.

Meanwhile, Spalding start their defence of the South Lincolnshire & Border League Premier Division title at home to Graves Park.

They were beaten by three wickets in the last over at North Runcton on Saturday after being dismissed for 166.

Jon Manton top-scored on 58 but Spalding conceded 41 runs in the final three overs.

Spalding won by 56 runs at Snettisham on Sunday but former Long Sutton bowler Will Naylor suffered a broken foot.
