CRICKET: Bourne's demolition job

Bourne demolished bottom side Alford in the Lincolnshire Premier League.

Firstly, they made the day’s highest team total of 272-8 and then followed this up by bowling the home team out for just 27.

There was little indication of the fireworks to come, when, put in to bat, Bourne lost openers Jack Berry and Jordan Temple for 5 and 6 respectively.

Alford’s reply lasted just 13 overs, with none of their batsmen reaching double figures.

Bourne bowler Matthew Kidd claimed a remarkable seven wickets for just four runs.

Market Deeping bowlers Sachithra Perera and Mehul Adatia each claimed three wickets as they engineered a mid-order collapse by Scunthorpe Town.

After a steady start, Scunthorpe tumbled to a total of 159 - 9 of which opener Scott Nicolson hit 69.
