Market Deeping youngster Pat Brown shared the spotlight in a rousing win for underdogs Worcestershire Rapids on their first appearance at the Vitality Blast T20 Finals Day.

The 20-year-old produced a stunningly effective spell during the five-wicket victory over Sussex Sharks at Edgbaston on Saturday night.

Brown, already buoyed by figures of 4-21 including three wickets in one over during the semi-final defeat of Lancashire Lightning, was the difference-maker.

His four overs, split between the powerplay and the death, cost a miserly 15 runs as batsmen queued up to be bamboozled by his 'knuckle ball' and regular shifts in pace.

In all he banked 13 dot balls and leaked a solitary boundary.

Brown finished the T20 season with 31 wickets, six more than any other bowler, at an economy rate of under eight runs an over.

He came through the junior ranks at Deeping and played senior cricket at Outgang Road before joining Worcestershire's academy.
