Spalding United reveal pre-season schedule of friendly matches
Spalding manager Lewis Thorogood feels the pending return of competitive football has brought a 'real buzz' around the club.
The Football Association and Government gave the go-ahead at the weekend for competitive football to return again.
It means clubs can start full contact training with immediate effect while pre-season friendlies will be taking place from August.
Although the early games will be behind closed doors, a mandate has been submitted to the Government for approval which would allow crowds to attend by the end of next month.
The new Northern Premier League campaign has been given a provisional start date of Saturday, September 19, with the extra preliminary round of the FA Cup taking place on Tuesday, September 1.
Thorogood said: "It's great that things we have been thinking about and working on have now become a reality.
"There is a buzz around the club and everyone is wanting to push on to get it all moving. I'm quite excited to get going.
"It's a good time to be part of Spalding United at the moment. There's lot of exciting things going on in the background and this is a poignant step forward.
"We can start contact training from this week which will mean we can start looking properly at the triallists who are with us.
"We've got a good idea of when games are coming and we can now start planning for the season properly."
The Tulips are due to start their pre-season programme with a behind-closed-doors friendly against Southern League Premier Division side Peterborough Sports on Saturday, August 1.
