I have just enjoyed watching one of the best musicals I have ever seen.
St Nicholas Players pulled out all the stops last night for Little Shop Of Horrors as they acted, danced and sang their hearts out at The South Holland Centre in Spalding.
This fast-paced show had the audience tapping their toes as they followed the fortunes of Seymour and the sinister plant that was to change his fortune but ultimately lead to his downfall.
Singing and dancing from The Ronettes was very impressive as were the brilliant performances from Audrey and Seymour.
The stage set was a work of art inspired by the 1960s comic book. The colour change where everything started in black and white and changed to colour as Audrey Two was introduced is something I would have expected to see in The West End.
The manic dentist was suitably sinister but also very funny.
The cameo roles were well acted and the costumes were brilliant. I particularly like the Ronettes 60s inspired costumes and Mushnik’s colourful jacket.
Altogether a top class performance, well supported by live music from the orchestra.
