Having read of the problem of queues at the West Marsh Road waste station, might I suggest this is down to an insufficient number of ‘green waste’ bins.
If 75 per cent of the customers during busy periods are bringing green waste then three bins for this demand are too few. Moving the landfill bin and the wood bin would allow five green bins to be located down the one side of the site, increasing the capacity by two thirds.
It may be that five bins are still inadequate for extremely busy periods, so to alleviate the problem at these periods, why not allow people who bring their waste in bags which they do not want to keep, to leave them in a safe spot for the staff to unload into the bins when the site is not as busy?
