THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK: God is waiting for your call

Have your say

I wonder if you have heard of a new phobia?

‘Nomophobia’ is the fear of being without a mobile phone or out of range of a signal. The term as you might have guessed is an abbreviation for ‘no-mobile-phone phobia’ and was coined during a study by the UK post office.

This may make us smile, but mobiles are such a key part of many people’s lives that they cannot bear to be without them and not have them switched on. We need to be in touch!

The Christian is in the happy position of being able to stay constantly in touch in God. He is always accessible and never out of range! The Christian does this not via a mobile phone but by prayer, either spoken out loud or in our hearts. We talk to Him as to a friend – in ordinary language and about anything and everything.

And the brilliant thing is – God answers! He does so in the way that is best for us, as a wise father seeking to look after his children.

Enjoy your smartphone and apps. Better still, try prayer. God is waiting to hear from you!
