BOURNE Christmas Lights event has been another success with even more people in attendance, a higher level of lights and more activities.
Santa’s arrival on the sleigh and the switching on of the lights by Santa and the mayor went according to plan.
Approximately 130 children went to visit Santa in his grotto.
Children from the town’s Abbey Primary Academy, Westfield Academy, Bourne Academy and Grammar School performed beautifully on the stage, followed by A Handful of Harmonies – a newly formed local ladies’ choir.
The Bourne Borderers (Morris Dancers) created their usual unique style of entertainment.
Craft fair organisers Victoria and Amy and stall holders were very pleased with the evening and are hoping to return.
Bourne Town Council would like to thank everyone who had contributed to the success of the event, especially to the schools, Handful of Harmonies and Bourne Borderers for their entertainment, John Wand and his crew for donating the stage, floodlighting and sound system; also to Trevor Wand and his team for all their unsocial hours to ensure the town was lit up; not to forget Santa and the Bourne Lions, the Red Cross, the Friends of Bourne Butterfield for refreshments and Norman Brown who did an excellent job as MC.
A special thank you also goes to the district council’s employees at the Corn Exchange.
