On a recent trip to Spalding with some friends and their children I was surprised by the lack of ducks and ducklings on the riverside and adjacent areas.
This used to make the visit special for the children as they liked to feed the ducks and indeed took a supply of bread to do just that. One of the simple pleasures in life I agree but a pleasure none the less.
I just wondered if anyone can tell me why there are so few of our feathered friends this year.
Is it the weather, have the council discouraged them for health and saftey reasons or are they just in decline?
