RECYCLING: Lottery cash comes from government

Have your say

In response to the letter from a reader in Holbeach St Marks in last week’s Guardian.

The money for the Green Bag Lottery is coming from Government, as part of its desire to encourage people to recycle rather than punish them for not recycling.

This has a benefit to everyone in South Holland as it means we won’t have to use local taxpayers’ money to pay for land fill tax and we also get recycling credits as well.

Even if I wanted to divert the money to pot holes, I couldn’t, because they are a problem for Lincolnshire County Council to fix, not South Holland District Council.
