South Holland Rotary, together with the South Lincs Swimming Club, played a part in gaining a new world record for the most people swimming a continuous 100m during the same hour.
The event, at the Spalding Castle pool, involved about 115 Rotary clubs in many different countries and was to raise funds to eradicate polio.
Thanks to the local Sainsbury’s, Oldershaw’s Bulbs, of Moulton and caterers Hogmaster, of Spalding.
Some 109 swimmers completed the 100 metres at Spalding and raised £718. Four young ladies from the elite squad of the SLCSC then treated us to an impressive synchronised swim of 20 lengths. Thanks to Phillipa, Chloe, Emily and Bethany .
Please watch for a re-run next February, which will be bigger and better!
