Many thanks from the Legion

Have your say

I would like to thank all who attended and supported us at the service for the addition of names to the World War Two memorial at St Mary and St Nicolas Spalding.

It was very much appreciated, as were the ten standard bearers who did a good job under the guidance of Ken Willows.

The families and friends of the four names which have been added to the memorial were in attendance at this moving service.

Thanks to the Rev John Bennett and Dr Sarah Chadd for all their hard work and effort in helping to achieve and accomplish this.

It is 66 years since the end of World War Two and we have just got the names of these four men who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

I believe it is a fitting tribute to those who paid the ultimate price so that we could enjoy the democracy we live in today and take for granted

ON behalf of the branch committee of Long Sutton Royal British Legion, I would like to say a big thank you to all of those people who participated in both the service at the war memorial on Armistice Day and the parade and church service on Remembrance Sunday.

It was especially nice to see the number of younger members of the community taking part.

Thanks also to Long Sutton Army Cadets for their help with the poppy collections.
