I don’t want my mosaic covering a shop

Have your say

Just to point out that, as the artist responsible for designing the five Olympic torch mosaics with students from Holbeach Academy and making four of them with 900 fantastic volunteers in Spalding, Moulton, Whaplode and Long Sutton in a four month project (Academy students made the Holbeach one), I would like to see the Spalding mosaic in a prominent position where it will be celebrated as community achievement to be proud of. Not stuck high on a wall that should be made good by the owners of the building.

The five mosaics are currently on display in Holbeach church, open to visitors every day.

They measure 1.2m x 2.4m each and were designed to be ground mounted so they could be tactile as well as visual.

Please don’t use it as a convenient cover up in Spalding when it should be celebrated as the remarkable achievement that it is.
