I recently attended the out of hours GP at Johnson Hospital in Spalding on a Sunday as an alternative to using Boston A& E ss we are constantly advised.
However, I was told you cannot just walk in, you have to ring 111 first, when you have to explain your problem to at least three different people (who I know know are not medically trained, but just call centre workers) before being told someone will call you back and you will be given an appointment at Johnson.
What a complete waste of time. There were no patients waiting to be seen, but four receptionists, no doubt all getting double time for working on Sundays.
No wonder people go straight to A&E.
