Even speeding councillors can’t catch criminals

Have your say

MOULTON Parish Councillors are not renowned for making light-hearted or amusing speeches but at their last meeting Coun Martin Clayton regaled those present with a very exciting account of his recent night-time attempts at law enforcement in Moulton Seas End, when he chased suspected felons, driving his vehicle at 65mph without switching on the lights (Spalding Guardian, November 3, page three).

Thankfully no-one was injured by the councillor’s driving and although the saga did not result in him apprehending the miscreants, it is to be hoped that Coun Clayton, who frequently scorns local policing and those who provide it, realises that even a speeding councillor, driving in the dark, can’t always catch criminals.
