CHARITY: Spalding folk supported our bike ride

Have your say

On behalf of Boston Wheelers Cycling Club may I take this opportunity to thank the residents of Spalding for supporting our BW300 cycle ride which was raising money for Sport Relief last Friday and Saturday.

Our intention was to ride 300 miles around Lincolnshire in 24 hours. Despite some mechanical issues, very strong head winds and encountering a badger (who was unharmed, unlike the cyclist he tangled with) the club achieved their aim, arriving back in Boston at 8am on Saturday.

Thanks should go to all the support drivers and helpers, along with organisations who provided food and transport for the event.

We have also been amazed by the generosity of sponsors and individuals. Our original aim was to raise £1,000 – to date we have achieved almost £7,500 with money still rolling in. Please visit the Boston Wheelers website which has details of how donations can still be made.
