Adhere to advice in the Highway Code

Have your say

OF course Mr N Bingham is right and cyclists shouldn’t use pavements (‘Cyclists on our pavements an accident waiting to happen’, Spalding Guardian, October 6).

But the reality is that they do, including young children, and will continue to do so until there is proper enforcement and also safer routes for them to use.

Spalding’s cycle route network is improving but progress is slow.

Mr Bingham carefully backs his car out of his driveway.

He and others could lessen the danger of this by adhering to the advice in the Highway Code (paragraph 201) – “When using a driveway, reverse in and drive out if you can”.
