We wholeheartedly support the residents’ fight for safer junctions, pedestrian crossings and school patrols in Gosberton, as reported in the Lincolnshire Free Press on April 5.
One of the major problems, however, and one relatively easily resolved, is the continual illegal parking at the triple junction of Boston Road, High Street and Belchmire Lane.
This is a dangerous junction, compounded by the sight line from Belchmire Lane being obscured by vehicles parked outside the shop, and traffic being unable to turn into the lane because of the obstructions, particularly when accompanied by parent parking on the opposite side, which in turn creates delays at the entrance to High Street – and all of this right outside a school.
Although it shouldn’t be necessary, this could be resolved quickly with the application of double yellow lines on the corner.
